We at Bodine owe much of our success to
the community and people who have supported us all along.
This is our home, and as a neighbor we understand the importance
of being a good corporate citizen.
Bodine Aluminum is one of the largest employers
in the Troy community, with approximately 60 percent of our
team members living in Lincoln County. Other team members
come from several surrounding areas in the St. Louis Metropolitan
area. These communities provide our plant with excellent employees,
so we continuously look for ways to give something back to
them.

Many of our philanthropic efforts focus on programs
that enhance education and provide opportunities for youth. Our
engineers have helped nurture the technical skills of local students,
and our human resources department has held mock job interviews
to help students enhance their confidence about entering the working
world.
Additionally, we are involved with several local
charitable organizations. As an annual corporate sponsor of the
American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, we help raise funds
to fight cancer and provide cancer education to the local community.
In addition to our sponsorship, a volunteer team of our employees
participates in the relay every year.
Hurricane
Relief Effort

|
In 2006 Melvin Ashburn took vacation days
to go down to Slydel, LA to help support the Hurricane relief
efforts. His main assignment was to help clean up and begin
to rebuild an elderly man's home that had been severely
damaged by a tree that fell on it. Melvin felt good about
the efforts put forth by many different organizations down
there and by the looks of it he did some pretty good work
himself. THANKS FOR YOUR VOLUNTEERISM, MELVIN!

Helping Hands
What does this mean?
In honor of your hard work and dedication in making Bodine
a success in our community, Bodine is going to be implementing
a Team Member Volunteer Program. Don’t miss a great
opportunity to improve the community you live in! |
|
How can it help you?
You decide! Our Volunteer Program can vary from employee-led teams
which actively seek out new and relevant community projects, to
a bulletin-board with weekly postings of volunteer opportunities.
We can also target an issue pertinent to individual team members.
In addition, this program will promote camaraderie among Team Members
and provide a greater sense of pride and accomplishment. The possibilities
for this program are endless and the impact great!
How can we help?
At right is a small questionnaire that will help
us to develop a program that supports your philanthropic ideas.
Remember, this is a program for you and about you, so tell us how
we can best put the face of Bodine...you... out there to improve
our community. Together, our helping hands can make a difference.
